Leave behind

by Kelsey

Nothing ruins a new day faster, than bring up yesterday. Let the past, be the past.

Everyone has scars. That is part of life, sorry to be blunt, but that is how it is. The question is, how are you going to deal with it? Are you going to let it get you down, feel like a failure, and forget what God’s mercy has done for you? Or, are you going to rejoice that God has been with you through it all, and is still holding you, leading you, and keeping you?

The second sounds like a better choice to me. So why do we normally chose the first before the second? Well the truth, I don’t really know why. Yep its out, I don’t know everything. But I do know that part of it is, we don’t trust God enough. Do you really think He is going to let you down? He promises that He won’t. Then why do we live with this idea, when life gets hard? If life was always easy, then what would we need God for? Now of course I’m not limiting God to only helping us when the going gets tough, but you see my point.

We act like we only need God when things get hard or uncertain. And when life is hard, we tend to focus on the negative, instead of focusing on the positive.

Have you had something in your life that you wish wouldn’t have happened? Has someone hurt you, and you think you can’t ever forgive them? Maybe you are having a hard time with your husband or boyfriend, or a friend isn’t getting along with you. Well gals, don’t let that get you down. God knows what He is doing. And we have to stop looking at the problems with the present, and the mistakes of the past, and look to the only thing we know is secure. Jesus Christ!

It doesn’t matter what you’re going through, God has promised, – The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”-Deuteronomy  31:8. He always keeps His promises. So believe it!

So forget the past. The past has been washed away, and you can start again. Forgive and forget. It’s that simple. Don’t make it more complicated then it has to be, and don’t make excuses. Forgive, like you were forgiven, forget just like Christ forgets all your trespasses.

Look forward to the future, for He holds it in His hands. (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

Emotions

by Kelsey
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

Some days, our feelings seem out of control. We’re just reacting to everything that lands in front of us, and we feel like we just can’t help it.

It might seem as if our moods and emotions are a curse rather than a blessing. They give us so much trouble! What good are emotions if they only confuse us? But God has given women all these emotions for a very good reason. Think about it. Women are most empathetic. We are able to put ourselves in another’s place and understand instinctively how someone else is feeling. We cry easily because we feel for one another. Women are capable of great understanding, great compassion, and great mercy. When Jesus urged His followers to love one another, care for one another, and encourage one another, He gave women a commission for which they were perfectly suited!
