Leave behind

by Kelsey

Nothing ruins a new day faster, than bring up yesterday. Let the past, be the past.

Everyone has scars. That is part of life, sorry to be blunt, but that is how it is. The question is, how are you going to deal with it? Are you going to let it get you down, feel like a failure, and forget what God’s mercy has done for you? Or, are you going to rejoice that God has been with you through it all, and is still holding you, leading you, and keeping you?

The second sounds like a better choice to me. So why do we normally chose the first before the second? Well the truth, I don’t really know why. Yep its out, I don’t know everything. But I do know that part of it is, we don’t trust God enough. Do you really think He is going to let you down? He promises that He won’t. Then why do we live with this idea, when life gets hard? If life was always easy, then what would we need God for? Now of course I’m not limiting God to only helping us when the going gets tough, but you see my point.

We act like we only need God when things get hard or uncertain. And when life is hard, we tend to focus on the negative, instead of focusing on the positive.

Have you had something in your life that you wish wouldn’t have happened? Has someone hurt you, and you think you can’t ever forgive them? Maybe you are having a hard time with your husband or boyfriend, or a friend isn’t getting along with you. Well gals, don’t let that get you down. God knows what He is doing. And we have to stop looking at the problems with the present, and the mistakes of the past, and look to the only thing we know is secure. Jesus Christ!

It doesn’t matter what you’re going through, God has promised, – The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”-Deuteronomy  31:8. He always keeps His promises. So believe it!

So forget the past. The past has been washed away, and you can start again. Forgive and forget. It’s that simple. Don’t make it more complicated then it has to be, and don’t make excuses. Forgive, like you were forgiven, forget just like Christ forgets all your trespasses.

Look forward to the future, for He holds it in His hands. (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
